What safety measures will be in place during the pandemic?
During the pandemic, at our office, we pay a specific attention to hygiene to make you comfortable and to guarantee your safety. We will not have more than two people in the sitting room in the same time. I will wear a mask and ask you to wear your mask as well. We clean chairs and surfaces you're in contact with between each clients. You will have hydro-alcoholic gel to clean your hands. In addition of more time between two clients to refresh the room and wearing mask, I will use an antiviral/antibacterial blend of essential oils on the warm towel to start our session. To respect a safe distance from your face, I will not offer hands protocol during the pandemic. If you have any question, feel free to ask before the session. This way you will feel more relaxed and safe.

Where will my reflexology session take place?
Your reflexology session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room at my office located 8045 Big Bend, Suite 110, Webster Groves. You will lay on a  massage table especially designed for your comfort.

Must I be undressed?
Only your feet and your ankles will be undressed and touched during the entire session.

Will I be covered during the session?
A sheet will keep you warm and comfortable. During the pandemic, each client will have a clean blanket. Only your feet and ankles will be exposed.

What parts of my body will be touched?
Only your feet and ankles will be touched during the session. In case of hand reflexology, only your hands and wrists will be touched.

What will the reflexology feel like?
A reflexology session starts with a warm towel on your feet. Then I work along the whole spine points that will help calm your nervous system and relax global tension. It will also give information about what areas and organs are more sensitive. It helps to confirm the direction and the order I will follow for the care. A light oil is used to allow your tissues to be touched without causing excessive friction to the skin. The oil also helps hydrate your skin. If you have no allergy to essential oils, I add some specific blend to the protocol. The topical use of essential oils blends helps me work deeper and more precisely on a system or organs, especially in case of stress, shock and grief. You should communicate immediately if you feel any discomfort so that another approach may be taken. Reflexology is most effective when your body is not resisting.

Are there different kinds of reflexology techniques?
There are different types of techniques and care; various methods utilize pre-determined directions and order that lead to a variety of ways to access to the nervous points and to monitor the pressure on them.  The Traditional Chinese Medicine Method is more focused on the systemic of the organs, when Dr Faure Alderson's method uses the cranial-sacral balance as a base. Both methods helps your body and organs through their connections to your nervous system. They are not intrusive because they only work with the nervous points located on your feet. We can discuss which method may be most appropriate for you.

What should I do during the reflexology session?
Prior to the care, feel free to ask me any question about the technique or the upcoming session. During the care, make yourself comfortable. Usually, people completely relax and fall asleep. You may be communicating if/when you want to mention a sensitive point or area, when you need an adjustment of the pressure. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask. After the session, I will make a herbal tea for you and give you my feedback. You will give me yours

How will I feel after the reflexology session?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience some tiredness during the following days. You need to drink more water than usual to evacuate toxins. We stay in contact few days after the session to take note of all the effects, changes you notice. In addition to functional improvement in their body, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and well-being.

What are the benefits of reflexology?
Reflexology can help release chronic tension and pain, improve circulation, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured tissues or infection, and reduce blood pressure. Reflexology also promotes better sleep, improves concentration, reduces anxiety and creates an overall sense of well-being, like a long resting night of sleep or even like some vacation time.

Are there any medical conditions that would make reflexology inadvisable?
Yes. That's why it's imperative that, before you begin your session, I ask general health questions. It is very important that you inform me of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required.
